SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) - Top Shia cleric Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Al-Hussaini Al-Sistani, emphasised that there are no real differences between Shia and Sunnis and that he is a servant to all the people in Iraq.

His eminence also added, in a speech that was read on his behalf on the opening ceremony of the first Shia and Sunni Scholars Forum in the holy city of Najaf, “I love everybody and religion is love. I am shocked how enemies can divide the Islamic sects.”

He also mentioned that “these gatherings and meetings are important and fruitful, from which people can know that there are no disputes between them (referring to Islamic sects). Differences between Shia and Sunnis are in jurisprudence (Fiqh) issues, which also exist between the people of the same sect.”

In addition, he said that “Shia have to defend the social and political rights of the Sunnis before the Sunnis themselves. Our call is for unity; and I said that before, but still say it, do not say our Sunni brothers, but say ourselves. I listen to the Sunni Friday prayer leaders more than I listen to Shia Friday prayer leaders. We do not distinguish Arabs and Kurds. Islam is what unites us.”

He clarified that he mentions the Sunni fatwas, in his jurisprudence researches. “We are united towards one Ka’ba, one Prayer and one Fasting. Whenever a Sunni comes and tells me that they be became Shia, in the time of the previous regime, I ask him why? He responds to me that it is for the obedience of Ahlulbayt (A.S.) (Wilaya). So I tell him that the Sunni scholars always defended and supported the obedience of the Holy Household (A.S.).”

Ayatollah Al-Sistani concluded by saying that “the mass burials (graves where many people used to be buried together at the time of Saddam Hussein’s regime) affected the Sunnis as equally as the Shia. I support everyone who demands their rights.”

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) - The progress of any nation has always been strongly associated with knowledge and learning. King Saud University, the premier institution of higher education in Saudi Arabia, was established in 1957 to enhance the nation’s growth and well-being.

Through strong government support and many highly-qualified professionals and administrators, KSU has supplied the Saudi people and market with years of invaluable service, and served as a traditional source of skilled professionals and academics needed to meet the nation’s growing needs in the areas of medicine, engineering, agriculture, science and development, the humanities and language.

On top of teaching and research, the University extends its practical and vital academic functions to the development of Saudi health care and the needs of the private sector.

Universities around the world are always the leading institutions to condemn human rights abuses and violations of justice. It is normal to see these institutions releasing reports to counter any violations happening around the world.

Considering KSU as being one of the leading Universities in Saudi Arabia and the first ranked Arab University, the question is why it never released a human rights condemnation reports about abuses happening in Saudi Arabia or elsewhere around the world?

That is believed to be a hard question to answer by educational institutions and authorities in Saudi Arabia.

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) - This is what the fake "Syrian Revolution" and the war that is being presently waged on Syria is all about. Make no mistake: It is a war that is being waged against Syria and against the people of Syria. There is no massive, popularly supported uprising or indigenous "revolution" taking place in Syria against the Syrian government either by or on behalf of the Syrian people. The instigators of this fake "revolution" don't give a damn about the Syrian people.

What is taking place in the region is a Zionist/imperialist attack on Syria and on the Syrian people by foreign mercenary forces that have entered into Syria from the outside. These are outsiders. These are invaders. And the purpose of this invasion, this attempted destabilization and overthrow of Syria is really quite simple and is clearly illustrated in this photo.

Here, a member of the Syrian opposition, the FSA or so-called "Free Syrian Army," is burning a flag. Note that it isn't an Israeli flag that he's burning, but a Hezbollah flag, a flag representing the Lebanese resistance to Israel.

So there you have it. It is clearly visible. The true purpose of the bogus "Syrian Revolution" is not to uphold or defend the "human rights" of the Syrian people as the massive propaganda campaign would have us believe. Its true purpose is to destroy Syrian support for the Lebanese Resistance and to pave the way for full-scale Israeli hegemony and control over the entire Middle East region.

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) - The office of Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Al-Hussaini Al-Sistani answered questions and suspicions concerning the alleged reports that his eminence gave approval of the content of Imam Sadiq (A.S.) TV series “Imam Al-Fuqaha’a” and authorizing the show of Imam Sadiq’s (A.S.) face by the actor.

SHAFAQNA has asked Ayatollah Al-Sistani’s office about the issue and the question came as follow:

There are media reports saying that Ayatollah Ali Al-Hussaini Al-Sistani gave his approval to the content of the TV series, being aired currently in the holy month of Ramadan on different channels including Al-Iraqia channel (of Iraq). According to these reports, it is being said that Ayatollah Al-Sistani allowed the showing of Imam Sadiq’s (A.S.) character’s face played by the main actor. Are these reports true?

Ayatollah Al-Sistani’s office responded by saying:

What has been spread in the media has no truth. The content of this TV series was never shown to his eminence to take his opinion. Ayatollah Al-Sistani never gave approval of filming the actor’s face playing the role of one of the infallible Imams (A.S.). None of these issues have been asked to his eminence and everything related to this issue has no truth.

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) - Since SHAFAQNA was always present in all religious and cultural activities, it did not miss what took place recently in the heart of the capital Baghdad and under the blessings of our masters Imam Kazim (A.S.) and Imam Jawad (A.S.). Al-Mustafa International University held intensive cultural lessons and hosted many professors, religious figures, and intellectuals of all backgrounds. On that event, SHAFAQNA reporter had this interview with Sayyed Abul Hassan Al-Nawab, president of the Religion and Sects Approximation Organization.

Sayyed Al-Nawab said: The world is hungry to know about Ahlulbayt (A.S.) school of thought and for all its knowledge. I went once to Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt before their revolutions and I was with them at their houses and Mosques where I saw their interest to keep contact with us, because their governments did not let them contact or meet us. This interest is not only in Arab countries, but even in the heart of America. The normal American citizen is directed towards Islam. It is important to mention that in the year of 9/11 (2001), the best seller book was the Holy Quran. They did this (9/11) to keep people away from the Holy Quran, but the opposite actually happened, where people turned even more towards Islam. Therefore, all mankind is oriented towards our religion and Ahlulbayt’s (A.S.) school of thought.

About the goal and mission of their organization, he stated to SHAFAQNA reporter that:

The most important role of this foundation is the approximation between religions and sects, but how is that done?

All mankind is oriented towards our religion, but we have to represent the verse of the Quran that says: (Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction) Ch. 16 verse 125.

Our role should be known, because our enemies are instructed to invite us to a war with our Sunni brothers and ignite it between us, but by our ethics from the Holy Quran, the Prophet (P) and Ahlulbayt (A.S.), we call for unity and not repulsion. We should know our duties and be careful not to let our enemies drag us into was with our Sunni brothers. However, when we call for unity, it does not mean that we will let our noble beliefs behind us or allow this to happen what so ever. We stand firm for our beliefs.
