5 Taliban terrorists arrested in Multan, planned to kill Pakistani Shia Leader

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) — Multan Police, on Saturday, arrested five alleged terrorists belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban-Pakistan (TTP) Noor Gul group, foiling their attempts of carrying out terrorist activities.

The Taliban terrorists had planned targeting various cities of Punjab, including Multan, and had been receiving training in Waziristan.

They had prepared hundreds of kilos of ammo and heavy weaponry. The police have seized all the ammunition, local Pakistan Newspaper Express reported on Saturday.

Furthermore, they had planned on targeting the chief of Tehreek-e-Jafaria, Allama Sajid Naqvi, and kidnapping the son of a renowned man for ransom in Mumtazabad.

The terrorists have been identified as Abdullah, Younus, Aqib, Salman alias Qadri and Muhammad Tahir, belonging to the agency from Khanewal and Dera Ghazi Khan.—www.shafaqna.com/english
