“We pursue promotion of Islam in virtual world.” Cleric

SHAFAQNA (Shia News Association) — A Shia cleric announced the country is planning to provide appropriate patterns for using the virtual world saying that promotion of religious values among youth is an aim for the plans.

Hujjat-ol-Islam Seyyed Mehadi Khamouchi, Head of the Organization of Islamic Promotion, said promotion of religious views has its special values and that the organization is trying to prepare a plan for making the best of the virtual world, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He referred to the variety of networks launched by the western countries and stressed, “We have to decide on our criteria because although crossing the red lines would attract many people with huge numbers of uploads but that is not a good index or an appropriate value.”

This religious figure said promotion of religions and Islamic teachings in virtual space is an objective for the Organization of Islamic Promotion.

He demanded the younger generation to form a front so that others follow a special discipline towards Muslim world.

Shia cleric said a virtual council has been formed for managing a proper usage of the virtual capabilities and also promotion of Islam and Islamic culture. —www.shafaqna.com/english/
