Iraq: 2 al-Qaeda members arrested in Wassit

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) — Security sources announced today that two Qaeda members were arrested, who were planning to attack Iraqi pilgrims and the accommodation centers along the road to Baghdad.

The source told Aswat al-Iraq that "explosives were found with them".

"They confessed of their intentions to attack the pilgrims on the way Kut-Baghdad", the source added.

Kut, center of Wassit province, lies 180 km south east Baghdad. — www.shafaqna.com
