SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) — Baghdad Provincial Council member confessed to be Qaeda member since 2005, Baghdad Police Commander announced today.
Staff General Adil Daham reported to semi-official Iraqiya TV that Baghdad Provincial Council member Laith al-Dulaimi confessed his relation with Qaeda organization since 2005.
The TV reported that Dulaimi confessed his responsibility for a number of terrorist actions, including the attempt to assassinate Chairman of Baghdad Provincial Council Kamil al-Zaidi.
He confessed that he was in charge of a 12-man terrorist cell.
A number of political personalities described the arrest of Dulaimi as "political" and "an attempt from Premier Nouri al-Maliki to liquidate his opponents". — shafaqna.com
