SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) – The AhlulBayt Islamic Mission (AIM) is an ideological and grassroots organisation whose doctrine is Islam and whose objective is to empower Muslims through education, identity building and committed service to the community.
AIM is an independent, non-profit entity founded in 2003 in the United Kingdom by a group of Muslim activists and thinkers.
The AIM outlook is guided by the principles taught by the Holy Prophet (saw) and his AhlulBayt (as); and believes in the importance of:
Islamic Society – Ummah
Islamic Leadership – Wilayah
Upholding the Islamic way of life – Shariah
Proclaiming Islam – Dawah
AIM believes that for salvation to be attained, aspirations must centre on the preparation for the promised saviour, Imam Al-Mahdi (atf). Inspired by the Islamic teachings, AIM regards actively awaiting the Imam of our time as a fundamental solution to the problems of mankind. At the Mission, the core of our action focuses on grassroots empowerment. This approach has enabled AIM to build strong, healthy and durable relationships with diverse communities.
Primary Objectives
The primary objectives of the Mission are as stated below:
To promote a universal vision of Islam with regards to thought and practice.
To advance religious and social development; and safeguard the identity of Muslims.
To support the oppressed across the world and stand against oppression in all of its forms.
To combat ignorance, poverty, injustice, and moral degeneration.
To strive for unity amongst Muslims and create opportunities of dialogue with other faiths.
The AIM Commitment
We at AIM are committed in working to adopt Islam as a source of enlightenment and to promote those values that will bring about a healthy society. AIM believes that the continual pursuit of its objectives will facilitate prevalence of peace, justice and social improvement for Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
